Amur Leopard
The Amur leopard, one of the rarest big cats, is native to the snowy forests of Russia's Far East and northeastern China. Known for its thick, pale gold coat with widely spaced rosettes, it is uniquely adapted to cold climates.
With fewer than 120 individuals remaining in the wild, the Amur leopard faces severe threats from habitat destruction, poaching, and prey scarcity. Protected areas such as the Land of the Leopard National Park in Russia have been established to safeguard their habitat. International efforts focus on anti-poaching measures, captive breeding, and reintroduction programs to save this critically endangered predator.
